We do not want cost to be a barrier for any family to participate. We will provide scholarships at no cost whenever we have the resources. Otherwise, we ask for families to donate what they can.
We have some scholarships available now.
We have negotiated very favorable discounts from our partner program suppliers, but even so, each program does cost us real cash to provide.
The largest part of making this work is the cost of paying people a living wage to help manage the program and to provide support. In some cases, partner organizations have to pay rent for training spaces and have overhead to consider. Whenever possible, we want to provide incentives and awards for students who complete the work and succeed. We also want to provide celebrations. We do our best to recruit volunteers to help to keep costs low, but even then we like to provide some stipends when we can.
We do not want cost to be a barrier for any family to participate. We are working to raise donations and grants to provide scholarships for families who cannot afford the full cost of the program. Our overall cost to provide the online programs and cover our overhead is about $200 per student per year. Awards, incentives and celebrations are extra. Partner organizations will also have their local costs.
We have a limited number of scholarships available now to get started in each new chapter. Donate what you can to help as we work to raise grant funding.
Over time we will add other programs to the menu to cover other subjects such as math and emotional intelligence.
